The Cold Steel Tuff Lite 2.5" folding knife is a compact, reliable blade built for hunters, anglers, campers, and anyone who needs a trusty fixed-length folder in their pack or on their belt. With a 2.5-inch AUS-8A stainless steel sheepsfoot blade and a tough black Griv-Ex handle, it's the kind of workhorse that doesn't demand attention—it just gets the job done. Sheepsfoot blades have a flat cutting edge with a spine that curves down near the tip, making them excellent for detail work and general camp tasks where you need control without a sharp point.

AUS-8A stainless steel is a Japanese alloy known for holding an edge well and resisting corrosion, a solid choice for outdoor use where your knife might be exposed to moisture and salt air. The black Griv-Ex handle material is designed to provide a secure, non-slip grip even when your hands are wet or gloved—important when you're field dressing game, filleting fish, or setting up camp in wet conditions. The compact 2.5-inch blade length keeps the knife small enough to carry everywhere without being intrusive, yet large enough to handle real camp work.

Cold Steel has built a reputation for blades that work as hard as you do, and the Tuff Lite is no exception. This folding knife is lightweight and pocket-friendly, making it an easy addition to your EDC rotation or outdoor gear collection. Whether you're trimming cordage at base camp, processing food, or tackling everyday tasks around the property, the Tuff Lite delivers the reliability and edge geometry you'd expect from a Cold Steel blade.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a sheepsfoot blade, and what is it best used for?

A sheepsfoot blade has a flat cutting edge with a spine that curves down toward the tip instead of coming to a point. This design prioritizes control and precision over piercing, making it ideal for camp tasks, food preparation, and detail work where you don't need or want a sharp point. It's excellent for slicing, trimming, and general utility cutting.

Is the AUS-8A blade stainless steel good for outdoor use?

Yes. AUS-8A is a Japanese stainless steel alloy that holds an edge well and resists corrosion, making it well-suited for hunters, anglers, and campers who expose their blades to moisture, salt spray, and the elements. You'll need to keep it reasonably clean and dry to prevent rust, but stainless steel is more forgiving than carbon steel in wet conditions.

Will this folding knife fit in my pocket?

The 2.5-inch blade length and folding design make this knife compact and pocket-friendly. When folded, it's small enough for everyday carry (EDC) without being too bulky, though the exact closed length isn't specified here—contact us if you need those dimensions.

What does Griv-Ex handle material feel like, and is it slippery?

Griv-Ex is designed to provide a secure, non-slip grip even when wet or when wearing gloves. This is especially important for outdoor work where your hands might be damp, sweaty, or covered by heavy gloves. The material offers tactile security without being rough on your palm.
