Yankee Hill Machine
The Yankee Hill Machine SHORT SRX Muzzle Brake in 5/8-24 thread is a compact quick-detach brake engineered for shooters who want to run a suppressor without adding unnecessary bulk to their rifle. Built from 4140 steel with a black phosphate finish, this brake is part of YHM's sRx System—a no-nonsense platform designed around real-world usability and clean aesthetics. At 1.6875 inches long and 0.75 inches in diameter, it's one of the trimmer Q.D. options on the market, so you get the benefits of quick attachment and detachment without the weight penalty or the visual clunk.
What sets the sRx system apart is its internal taper seal seated directly ahead of the threads. That taper locks your suppressor in place and forms a pressure-tight seal that keeps gas and fouling off the threads entirely—no shimming, no timing headaches, no buildup to clean. The design is inherently stable across different barrels because the large taper diameter handles the positioning work; you don't have to stack shims or hunt for timing. If you decide later to run the brake permanently attached or want to swap to a different suppressor interface, you can do that without worrying about a mounted part wearing out.
Important: the SHORT SRX Muzzle Brake itself is only half the equation. You'll need to pair it with the YHM sRx Adapter (sold separately) to use it with YHM sRx suppressors. The brake's 5/8-24 threads are standard for most .308 and .338 rifle barrels, but verify your barrel's thread spec before ordering. This is a no-frills, purpose-built component for hunters and shooters who value form as much as function.

No. The YHM sRx system's large internal taper handles positioning automatically, so you don't need to shim or time it to your barrel.
Yes, the brake can be permanently installed if you prefer not to remove it, though the system is designed to work as a quick-detach component.
