Texas Weapon Systems
The Texas Weapon Systems Basic Rear Peep Sight for Gen-3 Dog Leg Rail Top Cover is a straightforward iron sight solution for AR platform rifles equipped with a Gen-3 rail interface. This non-adjustable peep sight mounts directly to the dog leg rail top cover, giving you a reliable backup optic or primary sighting system without the bells and whistles. It's graduated for a 100-yard zero, making it a practical choice for shooters who want simplicity, durability, and the time-tested accuracy of aperture sights in a lightweight package.
Peep sights have been a staple of rifles for over a century because they work—the small aperture naturally guides your eye to center and improves sight picture, especially useful at distance or in variable light. Unlike electronic optics or magnified scopes, there's nothing to turn on, no battery to die, and no complex adjustments to second-guess. For hunters, competition shooters, and tactical users who run a primary optic but want a solid backup, or for those who simply prefer iron sight fundamentals, a rear peep delivers.
The small .070" aperture diameter is a proven diameter for precision work, balancing light transmission with sight picture clarity. Because the sight is non-adjustable, it's designed to hold zero reliably once mounted, with no dials to bump or settings to drift. If you're building an AR or upgrading your current rifle's sighting system and need a no-fuss backup or primary rear sight for the Gen-3 dog leg rail, this is a clean, proven option.
