The Taurus Raging Hunter .44 Mag revolver is a purpose-built big-bore hunting sidearm that doesn't sacrifice practical features for tradition. This 6-shot revolver combines serious stopping power with modern conveniences—notably an optics-ready Picatinny rail that lets you mount a pistol scope or red dot for extended-range work in the field. The 8.375-inch barrel provides the velocity and sight radius you need for hunting medium game at distances where handgun hunting makes sense, and the matte stainless finish resists corrosion without the glare of a polished surface.

Weight management was a priority in the design. Taurus engineers built the barrel around a steel sleeve nested inside an aluminum housing, keeping the overall heft reasonable at 55 ounces—important when you're carrying a revolver as a backup or primary sidearm on a full hunting day. The ported barrel and gas expansion chamber work together to manage recoil and muzzle lift, helping you get back on target faster between shots. Cushioned rubber grips absorb shock and provide secure purchase, even with gloved hands in cold weather.

This is a straightforward, functional revolver for hunters who want a capable short- to medium-range backup or an alternative to semi-automatic handguns. The fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight come factory-tuned, and the transfer bar safety adds a layer of security when carrying loaded. At 14.1 inches overall and standing 6.4 inches tall, it handles like a larger-frame revolver but remains manageable for hip or shoulder carry.
