Strike King
The Strike King Square Bill 5/8oz in Powder Blue Back Chartreuse is a shallow water crankbait built to trigger strikes in heavy cover and tight spaces where bass hold during the day. This square bill design is engineered for power fishing—the kind of aggressive, methodical work that covers water fast and puts lures in front of active fish. The bait's signature hunting action creates constant erratic wandering, so even when you're fishing predictably, the lure moves unpredictably, which is exactly what can turn a neutral fish into a committed strike.
What sets this crankbait apart is its deflection. When you bump cover—logs, rocks, vegetation, dock pilings—the square bill design naturally bounces off obstacles rather than hanging up, keeping the bait in the strike zone longer and creating reaction strikes from fish that are triggered by the sudden deflection. The Powder Blue Back Chartreuse color combination offers high visibility in stained water while the contrast helps the bait stand out in mixed light conditions. This is a versatile choice for spring through fall shallow water work, especially in lakes and rivers where bass relate to structure close to shore.
The KVD Square Bill runs silent—no internal rattles—which means your presentation stays pure and lets the hunting action do the talking. This quieter approach is effective when fish have seen a lot of noise or when you're working clear, shallow water where subtlety matters. At 5/8oz, the bait casts plenty far for shallow water work and dives to a moderate depth, making it ideal for banks, flats, and drop-off edges where forage congregates.

The Strike King Square Bill 5/8oz is built for shallow water fishing—banks, flats, and structure close to shore where bass feed actively. The square bill deflects cleanly off cover, making it ideal for power fishing around logs, rocks, docks, and vegetation in spring, summer, and fall.
The silent running design eliminates internal noise, which can be an advantage in clear, shallow water where bass have a clear view and sound can spook fish. The hunting action and deflection off cover provide plenty of trigger; the quiet approach lets the lure's movement and color do the work.
The square bill deflects off cover and structure instead of hanging up, keeping the bait in the strike zone longer and creating reaction strikes when fish are triggered by the sudden deflection and erratic movement.
Yes. The Powder Blue back provides a natural profile in clearer water, while the Chartreuse belly offers visibility and contrast in stained or low-light conditions, making this a versatile color choice for variable water conditions throughout the season.
