Strike King
The Strike King Square Bill 5/8oz Blue Craw is a shallow crankbait built for aggressive, power-fishing situations where you need a lure that hunts for strikes on its own. The square bill design creates that signature erratic wandering action—a natural-looking side-to-side hunting motion that triggers reaction bites from bass holding in shallow water, around cover, and along vegetation. Unlike lipless designs, the square bill deflects cleanly off hard structure and logs, kicking out at contact rather than hanging up, which means more efficient casting and more time in the strike zone.
What sets the KVD square bill apart is the silent approach: there are no internal rattles, so the lure relies entirely on its shape and action to call fish. This design philosophy works especially well in clear water or around pressured fish that have learned to associate noise with danger. The Blue Craw color pattern delivers a natural crawdad profile that matches the forage in many shallow systems, from spring spawning grounds to summer weed lines and fall feeding zones.
At 5/8 ounce, this bait casts cleanly on medium power gear and works well in shallow water ranging from 1 to 6 feet. It's a workhorse in the shallow crankbait arsenal—the kind of lure that becomes a go-to when you're covering water quickly and need consistent action without fuss. Whether you're fishing post-spawn shallows or autumn shallow flats, the Square Bill KVD delivers a hunting presentation that bass find hard to ignore.
| Weight | 5/8 oz |
| Lure Type | Shallow Crankbait |
| Color | Blue Craw |
| Design | Square Bill |
| Rattle | Silent (no internal rattles) |
The Square Bill is designed for shallow water applications, making it ideal for depths of 1 to 6 feet where it can hunt naturally and interact with bottom cover.
The square bill design deflects off hard cover rather than hanging up, allowing it to bounce through structure efficiently and triggering strikes on contact.
The Blue Craw pattern is a natural crawdad profile that works well throughout the year in systems where crawfish are present forage, particularly effective in clear to moderately stained water.
The KVD Square Bill runs silent with no internal rattles, relying on shape and action alone for presentation—a deliberate design choice for a more natural approach, especially in clear water or around pressured fish.
