Strike King
The Strike King KVD Splash Jr is a compact topwater hard bait engineered for explosive surface strikes on bass and other predators that hunt near the top. At 2.25 inches and weighing 3/16 ounce, this lure delivers the erratic, enticing action that Kevin VanDam designed into the KVD line—a slender modified flat-side profile that produces spitting, chugging, and walking motion to trigger aggressive takes. The Tennessee Shad 2.0 finish pairs realistic detail with proven fish-catching appeal.
Whether you're working shallow cover, around stumps, or along grass edges, the KVD Splash Jr balances compact size with the action that draws strikes from trophy fish. The feather-enhanced rear treble hook, paired with 3D eyes and a detailed paint job, creates the visual and auditory cues that topwater hunters expect. It's built on the same foundation as Strike King's proven topwater library—engineered to perform, not just look good.
If you throw topwater regularly and want a small, high-action profile that doesn't sacrifice movement or visibility, the KVD Splash Jr belongs in your tackle box. Pair it with a rod and reel suited to shorter casts and explosive hooksets, and work it over shallow structure where the biggest bass often hunt.

The KVD Splash Jr uses a modified flat-side design that produces distinctive erratic thumping and walking motion. Its smaller size (2.25 inches) makes it ideal when fish are feeding on smaller baitfish or when you're fishing shallow, confined areas where a bigger bait might spook them.
We don't have rod and reel recommendations in our specs, but topwater lures generally pair well with rods designed for accurate short casts and solid hooksets. Stop by and talk to our team about a setup that matches your fishing style.
