Strike King
The Strike King KVD Splash Jr is a 2.25-inch topwater hard bait engineered by pro angler Kevin VanDam for explosive surface strikes. Weighing 3/16 oz, this compact topwater lure delivers the erratic, attention-grabbing action that triggers aggressive strikes from bass and other predators. If you're hunting trophy fish in shallow cover and want a topwater that combines spitting, chugging, and walking motion in one package, the Splash Jr brings a proven design to your tackle box.
The lure's slender, modified flat-sided profile sets it apart from standard topwater plugs, creating that distinctive thumping action that mimics wounded baitfish. For anglers familiar with the KVD 1.5 Squarebill, the Splash Jr offers similar body proportions but with topwater versatility—giving you options whether you're working shoreline grass, fallen timber, or open water. The compact 2.25-inch profile makes it ideal for situations where a full-sized popper feels too aggressive or when finesse matters.
Build quality meets performance here: premium components include feather-enhanced rear treble hooks for solid hooksets and 3D eyes paired with ultra-realistic paint patterns that catch light and predator attention alike. Strike King's reputation as a topwater specialist is well-earned, and the KVD line carries that pedigree into every cast. Whether you're a topwater devotee or looking to expand your arsenal for specific conditions, this lure rewards confident anglers who trust surface action.
