Strike King
The Strike King KVD Splash 2.75" topwater lure brings Kevin VanDam's signature approach to shallow-water bass fishing. This hard bait delivers a slender, modified flat-sided profile engineered for erratic thumping action—the kind of unpredictable movement that triggers aggressive strikes from trophy bass. At 3/8 oz, it casts cleanly and works efficiently across flats, shallows, and vegetation, making it a practical choice whether you're fishing early morning bite windows or targeting specific cover.
What sets the KVD Splash apart is its versatility in retrieve options. You can work it with a spitting action for explosive topwater commotion, dial in a chugging cadence to create subtle disturbance, or walk the dog for a more classic topwater presentation. The bait's body profile keeps the action tight enough for precision casting to tight spots, yet produces enough surface disruption to call fish from a distance. The Tennessee Shad color pattern offers a natural forage profile that works across light and water conditions.
Strike King equipped this bait with premium components: a feather-enhanced rear treble hook that improves hookset reliability, 3D eyes for realistic detail, and ultra-realistic paint finishes. These details matter when you're counting on a single cast in thick cover or during a brief window of opportunity. The 2.75" size delivers a familiar profile—comparable to the classic KVD 1.5 Squarebill in effectiveness—while the weight class balances castability with the control you need in precision topwater fishing.
