Spro
The Spro Little John 50 1/2oz Citrus Shad is a shallow-running crankbait engineered for anglers who want reliable performance in the strike zone without sacrificing casting distance. Designed in collaboration with B.A.S.S. Elite Series pro John Crews, this half-ounce hard bait delivers the kind of consistent, productive action that works across a range of freshwater conditions—from clear reservoirs to stained river systems where that natural shad profile and citrus coloring trigger bites.
What sets the Little John 50 apart is its build quality. The computer-designed bill is machined from durable material rather than plastic, meaning it holds its diving plane and action through repeated contact with cover, rocks, and structure. That durability translates directly to more fishing days between replacements and confidence that your lure is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. The silent running action—powered by a soft tungsten weight transfer system—gives you a subtle, natural presentation that doesn't spook fish, while the system's design also contributes to the impressive casting distance you can achieve with such a compact profile.
Rigging matters, and Spro equipped the Little John 50 with Gamakatsu trebles, hooks known for their sharpness and holding power. That's a detail often overlooked in budget crankbaits, but it makes a real difference when a good fish commits. Whether you're working shallow flats, stumpy banks, or the upper water column around grass, the Little John 50 Citrus Shad gives you a tool that balances castability, durability, and fish-catching design in an easy-to-fish package.

The Citrus Shad pattern is a natural forage-mimicking color that has proven effective across various light conditions and water clarities, making it a versatile choice for freshwater crankbait fishing.
