Savage Arms
The Savage A22 Takedown is a semi-automatic 22 LR rifle built for hunters, shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts who value portability without sacrificing usability. Its twist-apart takedown design lets you break it down in seconds for easy packing into a backpack, vehicle, or boat—making it an ideal companion for backcountry hunting trips, camping expeditions, range days, or any adventure where weight and pack space matter. The rifle reassembles just as quickly, so you're never fumbling in the field when you need to get it into action.
Built on a proven semi-automatic rimfire action, the A22 pairs a compact 18-inch carbon steel barrel (threaded 1/2-28) with Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger, tunable from 3 to 5 pounds to suit your preference. The synthetic stock is purpose-engineered for backcountry use: a dedicated magazine compartment built into the cheek riser keeps spares within reach, while dry storage in the pistol grip safeguards small essentials like ammunition, maps, or survival gear. Low-profile iron sights come standard, and the integral 0 MOA Picatinny rail (with iron sight channel) accepts optics or accessories without removing the sights—a practical setup for shooters who want flexibility without compromising backup aiming options.
The A22 feeds from a single-stack 10-round rotary magazine, minimizing feed issues and keeping the rifle's profile trim. At 6.3 pounds and just under 37 inches long, it's genuinely packable; the 13.5-inch length of pull fits most shooters comfortably. Tang safety, right-hand ejection, and a right-hand bolt are standard. The matte synthetic stock shrugs off weather and rough handling, while the matte black barrel finish resists glare. Whether you're zeroing a new optic, taking prairie dogs, or simply enjoying precision rimfire shooting in remote backcountry, the A22 Takedown delivers Savage's AccuTrigger reliability and rugged simplicity in a rifle that actually goes where you go.
