The PTR GIR PTR 101 is a .308/7.62 NATO rifle built on a proven delayed blowback roller-lock operating system—the same design that powers battle-tested military platforms worldwide. This 18-inch barreled rifle combines classic H&K ergonomics with modern reliability, making it a solid choice for shooters who want a compact, accurate .308 rifle without the complexity of piston or direct-impingement systems. The tapered match-grade barrel and factory green fixed stock deliver a no-nonsense platform that works hard out of the box.
PTR Industries rifles are known for their attention to mechanical fundamentals: tight tolerances, quality assembly, and straightforward operation. The 18-inch barrel strikes a practical balance for .308—short enough for vehicle or confined-space handling, long enough to maintain effective velocity and accuracy at distance. The included scope mount means you can get behind glass quickly and start putting rounds downrange. Whether you're setting up a dedicated range gun, a truck rifle, or a platform for load development, the PTR 101 won't nickel-and-dime you with unnecessary features or manufacturing shortcuts.
The 20-round magazine capacity and NRA-rated good condition stock round out a rifle that prioritizes function over fashion. This is purpose-built .308 horsepower in a compact package—the kind of tool that rewards careful setup and disciplined shooting.
| Caliber | .308 Winchester / 7.62 NATO |
| Barrel Length | 18 inches |
| Barrel Profile | Match-grade tapered H&K profile |
| Overall Length | 40 inches |
| Weight | 9.75 pounds |
| Magazine Capacity | 20 rounds |
| Stock | Fixed OD green (NRA rated GOOD condition) |
| Action Type | Delayed blowback roller-lock |
| Scope Mount | Factory-installed |
The rifle ships with a factory-installed scope mount ready to accept standard optics. No additional mounts are needed to start shooting.
The 18-inch match-grade barrel will deliver effective .308 ballistics at typical hunting ranges. Velocity will be lower than longer-barreled variants, so ballistic planning at extended distance is recommended.
The stock is an OD green fixed design, rated NRA GOOD condition—fully functional and ready to use.
Yes. The rifle is chambered in both .308 Winchester and 7.62 NATO, and both are interchangeable in this platform.
