Primos
The Primos 701 Hardwood Grunter is a versatile deer call that combines proven hardwood construction with modern flexibility to help you close the distance on rutting bucks. Whether you're hunting early season or during the peak rut, this call lets you produce authentic grunt and bleat sounds that trigger aggressive responses from territorial deer. The hardwood barrel delivers the deep, resonant tones that have made Primos a trusted name in deer hunting since they pioneered the grunt call back in 1984.
What sets the Hardwood Grunter apart is its dual-technology approach: you get the rich, natural sound quality of premium hardwood paired with the flexibility of a modern expandable hose system. The adjustable reed assembly handles multiple vocalizations—grunts, bleats, and more—giving you the ability to mimic different deer sounds and situations without carrying multiple calls. The extendible tube lets you vary the pitch and tone by adjusting the length, so you can adapt your calling to different terrain and deer response patterns.
Built tough for the field, the Hardwood Grunter is designed to deliver the volume you need to be heard across open country and through thick cover. The hardwood construction isn't just about tradition—it produces the deep throaty resonance that deer recognize and respond to instinctively. If you hunt whitetail seriously and want a reliable, multi-purpose call that works, this is a solid choice whether you're a seasoned caller or stepping up from simpler designs.
