The Otis Ripcord pull-through bore cleaner for 10mm and .40 caliber firearms combines proven breech-to-muzzle cleaning efficiency with materials engineered to handle real-world use. Built with a heat-resistant Nomex outer layer and a molded rubberized core, this 36-inch cleaner removes fouling in a single pass—whether you're maintaining a duty pistol, competition gun, or hunting rifle. The Nomex construction, the same material trusted by firefighters and military operators, resists temperatures up to 700°F, so you won't worry about damage from hot barrels or extended shooting sessions.

Breech-to-muzzle cleaning doesn't require a rod, stand, or complicated setup. Simply insert the Ripcord's narrow end into the chamber, pull it straight through the muzzle, and repeat as needed. The helix design engages the rifling along the full length of the bore, while the rubberized core keeps aggressive contact with the bore walls for thorough fouling removal. Nomex fibers work double duty—loosening buildup and capturing particles so they leave with the cleaner. Brass threads (5-40 inch pattern) won't scratch or mar your bore, and the threaded ends accept additional Otis components if you want to expand your cleaning setup.

Safe for all firearms chambered in 10mm or .40 caliber, the Ripcord handles routine maintenance, rapid strings at the range, and field cleaning in the field. It's a no-fuss alternative to traditional patches and rods, and the rigid, durable construction outperforms lighter nylon designs when fouling is heavy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Ripcord fit my 10mm or .40 caliber firearm?

Yes. The Otis Ripcord is designed for both 10mm and .40 caliber rifles and pistols. Always use the correct caliber cleaner for your specific firearm.

Can I use the Ripcord on a hot barrel?

The Nomex outer layer is heat-resistant up to 700°F, so you can safely use it on hot barrels without concern for melting or degradation. Always handle with care when a barrel is extremely hot.

Can I add other cleaning tools to the Ripcord?

Yes. The brass-threaded ends (5-40 inch pattern) accept additional Otis cleaning components, allowing you to customize your cleaning setup as needed.

How do I use the Ripcord for cleaning?

Insert the longer, narrower end into the chamber, then pull the cleaner straight through the muzzle. Repeat passes as needed until fouling is removed. Use only for your specified caliber.
