Nosler
The Nosler Model 48 Long-Range Carbon rifle in 28 Nosler is built for hunters and long-range shooters who refuse to compromise between accuracy and weight. Chambered in the hard-hitting 28 Nosler cartridge with a 26-inch PROOF Research carbon fiber-wrapped barrel, this rifle delivers the precision needed for extended-range shooting while keeping total rifle weight at just 7.0 lbs—a critical advantage on mountain hunts and backcountry expeditions where every pound matters. Whether you're glassing steep country or competing at distance, the Model 48 Long-Range Carbon combines modern materials science with proven rifle-building fundamentals to give you a tool that performs when the stakes are highest.
At the heart of the Model 48 is Nosler's own custom action, precisely trued and mated to the PROOF barrel for repeatable accuracy. PROOF's carbon fiber construction isn't just lighter; it's stiffer and sheds heat more efficiently than traditional stainless barrels, which translates to consistent velocity and shot-to-shot performance even in rapid-fire sequences or changing conditions. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 for suppressor compatibility. Glass and aluminum pillar bedding locks everything down, while a Timney trigger with 2-position safety provides a crisp, controllable break.
The rifle ships in a Manners MCS-T Elite Tac carbon fiber stock finished in Elite Midnight Camo, a stock designed specifically for long-range and tactical applications. All metal surfaces—action and bottom metal—are finished in Sniper Grey Cerakote for corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. The 1-in-9 twist rate stabilizes the 28 Nosler's heavier projectiles, and the hinged floorplate makes feeding and unloading straightforward. Nosler guarantees minute-of-angle accuracy when fired with Nosler ammunition. At 48 inches overall length with a 13.5-inch length of pull, this rifle fits most shooters naturally behind the glass.
The 28 Nosler is a premium magnum cartridge that delivers real velocity and energy at extended range, making it a serious choice for high-country hunting and competition shooting where conditions demand a flat trajectory and explosive terminal performance.
