Mid-Lakes Nets
The Mid Lakes Nylon Minnow Seine 414-4 x 12 is a workhorse seine for anglers who need reliable net performance in the field. Built from tough Cumberland nylon yarns, this 4-foot seine stands up to repeated use, saltwater exposure, and rough handling—the kind of durability you need when you're chasing baitfish, sampling populations, or conducting field work. Unlike traditional cotton or polyester seines, nylon won't absorb water, keeping the net light and manageable even after hours in the water. The 1/4" mesh works well for capturing minnows and small forage species without unnecessary drag.
Construction details matter when you're counting on gear to perform. This seine features rolled corners at each end—a simple but effective detail that prevents the mesh from tearing when you're dragging through rocks, snags, or shallow cover. Lead sinkers run along the bottom edge to keep the net planted on the bottom, while water-resistant floats line the top edge to maintain proper seine geometry in the water. The nylon material resists mildew, which extends the life of the net whether you rinse it after use or occasionally leave it damp in the truck.
At 12 feet long and 4 feet tall, the seine balances portability with working width—easy enough to handle solo or with a partner, practical enough to cover decent water on a small creek or pond. This is the kind of seine that gets thrown in a tackle bag, stored in a truck bed, or packed for a sampling trip without complaint. Built for the work, not the showroom.
| Height | 4 feet |
| Length | 12 feet |
| Mesh Size | 1/4 inch |
| Material | Cumberland nylon yarn |
| Bottom Edge | Lead sinkers |
| Top Edge | Water-resistant floats |
| Corners | Rolled for tear resistance |
The 1/4" mesh is designed for small forage species like minnows and other baitfish. It's effective for capturing young-of-year fish and small baitfish species without excessive drag in the water.
No. The nylon construction does not absorb water the way cotton or polyester seines do, so the net stays lighter and more manageable throughout extended use in the water.
The nylon material and construction are durable and resistant to water absorption, making it practical for various freshwater and field sampling applications. Rinse after use to maintain the net's longevity.
The rolled corners prevent the mesh from tearing when the seine catches on rocks, sticks, or other bottom structure during deployment and retrieval.
