The Limbsaver 10542 Grind-To-Fit Medium recoil pad is the customizable solution serious shooters and gunsmiths turn to when factory pads don't cut it. Unlike one-size-fits-all alternatives, this black rubber pad ships oversized and is designed to be ground down to match your rifle's unique geometry—giving you a tailored fit that factory pads simply can't deliver. Whether you're building a custom hunting rifle, restoring a family heirloom, or fine-tuning a precision range gun, the ability to shape this pad to your exact stock dimensions means comfort that actually fits your gun, not a compromise that fits somebody else's.

Recoil management matters. A pad that seats flush against your cheek and shoulder absorbs energy more effectively than one that rocks or gaps. Limbsaver's engineering in this pad is built to reduce felt recoil and minimize muzzle jump, which translates to faster follow-up shots, less shooter fatigue, and the confidence to stay on target. For hunters working through a long season, precision shooters running strings at the range, or anyone tired of bruising and soreness after a shooting session, this is the kind of detail that makes a real difference.

The medium size ships with dimensions of 1″ length of pull, 4–13/16″ width, and 1–27/32″ depth, and is grindable down to 3–7/8″ × 1–11/32″, giving you flexibility to dial in the fit for most standard rifle stocks. The black rubber construction is durable, weather-resistant, and built for both the field and the bench. If you're the type to invest in your rifle's handling and comfort, or you work on guns professionally, the grind-to-fit approach is worth the extra effort.
