Lews Fishing
The Lews Mach I spinning reel is built for anglers who refuse to compromise between lightweight finesse and the muscle to land serious fish. With a 6.2:1 gear ratio, 10 ball bearings, and 180 yards of 10-pound capacity, this reel delivers the speed and reliability you need whether you're working shallow structure or battling hard-fighting species. The graphite frame and sideplate keep weight minimal without sacrificing durability, while the Carbon skeletal rotor is engineered to handle the punishment demanding anglers dish out on the water.
What sets the Mach I apart is its smart engineering across every component. Precision-cut brass Speed Gears ensure consistent performance and longevity, while the Zero Reverse one-way clutch bearing eliminates backplay and keeps your hooksets solid. The DuraMax drag system handles big fish confidently, yet the reel remains compact and balanced enough for finesse applications where light pressure and accurate presentation matter. Pair that with Speed Lube technology for a smooth, quiet retrieve, and you've got a reel that works as hard as you do.
An aluminum handle and Combat Grip knob round out the package, designed for comfort during all-day sessions. Whether you're targeting panfish on a light setup or mixing it up with stronger species, the Mach I gives you the versatility and confidence to fish your way—backed by a one-year warranty and Lew's customer support.
| Gear Ratio | 6.2:1 |
| Ball Bearings | 10 |
| Line Capacity (10lb) | 180 yards |
| Frame Material | Graphite |
| Sideplate Material | Graphite |
| Rotor | Carbon skeletal |
| Speed Gears | Solid brass, precision-cut |
| One-Way Clutch | Zero Reverse bearing |
| Drag System | DuraMax |
| Handle | Aluminum |
The 6.2:1 gear ratio means the rotor makes 6.2 full turns for each turn of the handle, giving you quick line pickup—ideal for working lures, covering water fast, or quickly taking up slack. It's a versatile speed that works well for both finesse and more aggressive presentations.
Yes. The reel's lightweight graphite and aluminum construction makes it comfortable for extended finesse sessions, and the smooth Speed Lube retrieval pairs well with precision casting. The compact design is ideal for light-power setups while still offering enough drag power through the DuraMax system to handle occasional larger fish.
The Mach I holds 180 yards of 10-pound line, giving you solid capacity for most freshwater and light saltwater applications without being oversized for typical spinning rods.
The Mach I is backed by a one-year manufacturer warranty and supported by Lew's dedicated customer service team.
