Lews Fishing
The Lews Mach Crush spinning reel delivers balanced performance and durability for everyday anglers who want reliability without overpaying. Built on a lightweight aluminum frame and handle, this second-generation reel is engineered to handle sustained use on the water—whether you're working panfish ponds, chasing bass in weedy cover, or spending a full day casting. With an 11-bearing system, stainless steel double-shielded ball bearings, and a sealed carbon multi-disc drag, the Mach Crush is built to perform consistently across a range of freshwater and light saltwater conditions. The 6.2:1 gear ratio strikes a practical balance between line pickup speed and leverage, while the 145-yard capacity on 10-pound test suits most spinning applications.
What sets this reel apart is attention to the details that matter on the water. The C40 carbon skeletal rotor keeps weight down without sacrificing structural integrity, and precision-cut solid brass Speed Gears paired with Speed Lube ensure smooth, reliable retrieves when you need them. A Zero Reverse one-way clutch delivers solid hooksets, and the double-anodized aluminum spool resists the wear and corrosion that comes from repeated casting and exposure to the elements. The Winn Dri-Tac knob on the aluminum handle is designed for comfortable all-day fishing, reducing hand fatigue during extended sessions.
This is a workhorse reel for anglers who fish frequently and want equipment that won't let them down. It combines proven materials and bearing quality with a design that handles real-world punishment—braid, heavy-diameter mono, saltwater spray, and the occasional rocky snag. If you're stocking a rod locker, teaching someone to cast, or simply need a dependable backup reel that performs beyond its class, the Mach Crush delivers.

The Mach Crush features corrosion-resistant materials including stainless steel bearings and a double-anodized aluminum spool, making it suitable for light saltwater applications. Thorough rinsing after each saltwater session is recommended to extend reel life.
The Zero Reverse one-way clutch prevents the reel from turning backward, enabling immediate hooksets with minimal slack. This is especially valuable when fishing with moving baits or when a solid, instant connection to the fish is critical.
Yes. The double-anodized aluminum spool is designed to withstand the abrasive wear that braided line creates. Many anglers prefer braid on this reel because its durability and lower stretch complement the reel's solid drag system and hookset performance.
