Lews Fishing
The Lews Mach I spinning reel is engineered for anglers who refuse to compromise between light weight and reliable power. With a 6.2:1 gear ratio, 10-bearing system, and 120-yard capacity on 6-pound line, this reel delivers the balance of finesse performance and backbone that works equally well for panfish on ultralight setups and moderate freshwater gamefish. Whether you're casting all day in pursuit of bass, crappie, or walleye, the Mach I is built to keep pace with your skill and ambition.
At its core, the Mach I pairs a high-performance graphite frame and sideplate with a skeletal C40 carbon rotor—architecture that keeps the reel light in your hand without sacrificing strength. The solid brass Speed Gears, precision-cut on CNC equipment, ensure consistent gear engagement and long-term durability under real-world use. Lews backs this up with a one-year warranty and customer support you can actually reach.
The reel's Zero Reverse one-way clutch bearing and Speed Lube system deliver smooth, quiet retrieval that serious anglers notice on every cast. Its DuraMax drag system sits ready to handle hard runs and head shakes, while the aluminum handle and Combat Grip knob won't fatigue your hand during extended sessions. This is a reel that scales from technical finesse presentations to genuine power applications—no compromises, no gimmicks.
| Gear Ratio | 6.2:1 |
| Bearing Count | 10 Bearings |
| Line Capacity | 120 yards / 6 lb test |
| Frame Material | Graphite |
| Rotor Material | C40 Carbon (Skeletal) |
| Gears | Solid Brass, CNC Precision-Cut |
| Handle Material | Aluminum with Combat Grip Knob |
| Clutch System | Zero Reverse One-Way Clutch Bearing |
| Drag System | DuraMax |
| Warranty | 1 Year |
The Mach I is a standard spinning reel and will fit any spinning rod with a standard reel seat. With 120 yards of 6-pound line capacity, it pairs well with ultralight to light-power spinning rods suited for panfish and smaller to medium freshwater gamefish.
Yes. The lightweight graphite and carbon construction keeps fatigue minimal during extended casting sessions, and the aluminum handle with Combat Grip knob is designed for comfort over long days on the water. The durable brass gears and one-way clutch bearing support reliable performance throughout.
The DuraMax drag system is built to manage hard runs and load from larger fish, though the 120-yard / 6-pound line capacity suggests it's optimized for light to moderate applications. Pairing it with heavier line and a compatible rod will increase its effective power window.
The Zero Reverse one-way clutch bearing prevents the rotor from spinning backward, which improves hook setting and eliminates lost motion during the critical moment of the strike. Combined with the 10-bearing system, it contributes to the reel's smooth, responsive feel.
