L.E. Wilson
The L.E. Wilson 6XC (II) Bushing Full Length Die is a precision reloading die built for shooters who want repeatable neck tension control without sizing the entire neck. Unlike traditional full-length dies, this Wilson die leaves approximately 3/16" of the case neck unsized—a setup many experienced reloaders prefer for tighter shot groups and more consistent velocities. If you're handloading 6XC ammunition and want the kind of meticulous control that comes from a purpose-built bushing die, this is the tool that delivers it.
The die itself is manufactured from hardened steel to L.E. Wilson's exacting specifications—harder than Grade 8, built to last through thousands of reloading cycles. It fits standard 7/8" reloading presses and sizes both the shoulder and body dimensions while you manage neck tension independently via interchangeable bushings. The included adjustable depth decapping rod and extra decapping punch get you started; the stainless lock nut is engineered tough and won't wear or corrode with regular use. This is the kind of equipment that appeals to precision rifle shooters, competition reloaders, and anyone serious enough about accuracy to invest in componentry that matches their rifle's potential.
One important note: the die itself doesn't include an expander, and neck bushings are sold separately. L.E. Wilson bushings are the factory recommendation, though Redding bushings will also fit. Once you dial in the right bushing for your brass and barrel, you've got a repeatable system that takes the guesswork out of neck sizing—exactly what you need for consistent long-range or match performance.
| Caliber | 6XC (II) |
| Type | Bushing Full Length Sizing Die |
| Press Compatibility | Standard 7/8" reloading press |
| Material | Hardened heat-treated steel |
| Neck Sizing Depth | Leaves approximately 3/16" of case neck unsized |
| Decapping | Adjustable depth decapping rod; extra punch included |
| Lock Nut Dimensions | 0.225" thick (inside to outside edge), 0.270" height, 1.250" OD width |
| Bushing Compatibility | L.E. Wilson or Redding neck bushings (sold separately) |
The L.E. Wilson bushing die allows you to control neck tension independently through interchangeable bushings, while sizing the rest of the case. It intentionally leaves the lower 3/16" of the neck unsized, which many precision reloaders find produces tighter groups and better velocity consistency than sizing the entire neck.
Yes, neck bushings are sold separately. L.E. Wilson recommends using their own bushings, but Redding bushings will also fit this die. You'll need to select the correct bushing size for your desired neck tension.
No, this die does not contain an expander. It's a pure bushing-type sizing die designed to work with interchangeable bushings for neck tension control.
The L.E. Wilson 6XC (II) Bushing Full Length Die fits any standard 7/8" reloading press.
