IWI US
The IWI US Galil Ace Gen II in 7.62x39mm is a battle-proven platform that brings fifty years of real-world refinement to the modern sporting rifle. Built on the legendary reliability of the original Galil—itself inspired by the AK-47 and Finnish Valmet lineage—this 16-inch rifle delivers the accuracy and handling of a contemporary design without sacrificing the rugged simplicity that makes piston-driven systems trustworthy. Whether you're running drills at the range, setting up for precision shooting, or building a versatile 7.62x39 rifle you know you can rely on, the Galil Ace Gen II brings genuine innovation to a proven mechanical foundation.
The Gen II updates matter: a full-length two-piece Picatinny rail on top pairs with a free-floated M-LOK handguard to give you mounting flexibility without compromise. The reciprocating charging handle lives on the left side of the milled steel receiver, enabling weak-hand operation and adding ergonomic control that modern shooters expect. The side-folding adjustable telescoping buttstock accepts standard M4 furniture (ships with a Magpul CTR and riser), so you can configure the rifle to your body and mission. A refined safety lever and updated trigger profile round out the improvements, making this Gen II noticeably more shooter-friendly than earlier variants.
Underneath, the mechanics are time-tested: a chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged CrMoV barrel with a 1:9.45 twist spins 7.62x39 accurately downrange, while the long-stroke gas piston operating system keeps you running clean and cool under sustained fire. The rifle accepts standard AKM/AK-47 pattern magazines—specifically, U.S.-made Magpul MOE AK PMAG 30-rounders—and ships configured and ready to go. At just under 9 pounds, the Galil Ace Gen II balances controllability with the heft you need for precision shooting. This is a rifle built for shooters who value heritage, reliability, and performance in equal measure.
