The IWI US Galil Ace GAP36 Gen2 is a 7.62x39mm semi-automatic pistol built on the proven Galil platform, engineered for shooters who want rifle-caliber power in a compact, maneuverable package. With an 8.3-inch barrel and 18-inch overall length, it bridges the gap between traditional rifle ergonomics and pistol portability—ideal for home defense, truck guns, or anyone who wants serious capability without the SBR paperwork. IWI's Gen2 design refines the original Galil Ace with modern materials and thoughtful controls that work for both dominant and support-hand shooters.

The left-side reciprocating charging handle is a game-changer for weak-hand operation and tactical flexibility. You get full AKM/AK-47 magazine compatibility, so your existing 7.62x39mm mags feed reliably, and the 30-round capacity keeps you well-stocked. The milled steel receiver is paired with modern polymer furniture to reduce weight without sacrificing durability—this isn't a featherweight, but at 6 pounds it's manageable for extended shooting sessions or slung carry.

Sights are fully adjustable and feature Tritium front posts for low-light confidence. The full-length two-piece Picatinny rail on top lets you mount optics without compromise, and the Picatinny tri-rail forearm with integral slide-on/off covers and pressure switch access gives you options for lights, lasers, or grips. Whether you're a tinkerer who loves AK platforms or just want a no-nonsense intermediate-caliber pistol, the Galil Ace Gen2 delivers proven reliability in a compact form factor.
