Geissele Automatics
The Geissele Automatics Lower 1/3 Co-Witness MRO Mount is a precision red dot sight mount engineered for shooters who want their optic positioned in the lower third of their AR upper receiver while maintaining co-witness with iron sights. Built from a single piece of 7075-T6 aluminum, this mount delivers the rigidity and durability you need for duty, competition, or tactical carbine work. It's specifically designed to secure Trijicon MRO red dot optics and similar direct-mount red dots with absolute reliability.
Geissele's approach to mounting combines traditional nut-and-bolt attachment with modern precision engineering. The result is a mount that clamps your optic down with 1,400 pounds of clamping force—enough to keep zero even under hard use. Three integral shear lugs maximize rigidity and resist the kind of lateral stress that can shift point of impact. Whether you're running a piston gun or direct impingement, this mount won't surprise you on the range or in the field.
The lower 1/3 co-witness height is a practical choice: it lets you use your backup iron sights without obstruction while keeping your red dot in a comfortable sight picture. The DDC (Magpul Dark Earth) finish blends seamlessly with modern tactical gear and carbines. This is the kind of accessory that earns trust through predictable performance, not marketing hype.
| Mount Type | Direct mount, lower 1/3 co-witness |
| Material | 7075-T6 aluminum |
| Clamping Force | 1,400 pounds |
| Shear Lugs | 3 |
| Finish | DDC (Magpul Dark Earth) |
| Optic Compatibility | Trijicon MRO and like-mounted red dot optics |
Yes. The Geissele Lower 1/3 Co-Witness MRO Mount is specifically designed for the Trijicon MRO and similar direct-mount red dot optics with the same footprint.
Lower 1/3 co-witness positions your red dot lower on the receiver so that your backup iron sights sit above it in your field of view. This lets you use either your optic or irons without one blocking the other.
The mount applies 1,400 pounds of clamping force via Geissele's nut-and-bolt attachment method, combined with three integral shear lugs to prevent rotation and maintain zero.
This mount is finished in DDC, which is Magpul Dark Earth—a neutral tan color that works well with modern tactical carbines and gear.
