Faxon Firearms
Building a precision 6.5 Creedmoor rifle starts with a quality barrel, and the Faxon Firearms FX7 bolt action prefit barrel in 6.5 CM gives you a ready-to-install foundation engineered specifically for the FX7 action. This 24-inch prefit barrel arrives finished and dimensioned to drop into your FX7 receiver with the fit and headspace already dialed in — no gunsmithing required. If you're assembling an FX7-based rifle for long-range hunting or precision shooting, this barrel eliminates the guesswork of sourcing and fitting a standalone tube.
The barrel stock is 416-R stainless steel, a material chosen for corrosion resistance and machinability in high-quality rifle builds. Faxon uses 5R button rifling — a proven profile that balances accuracy, bore life, and easy cleaning — combined with a honed and lapped bore for consistent velocity and tighter shot groups. The 1:8 twist rate is optimized for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, handling bullets from the lighter match-grade pills to heavier hunting rounds. Salt bath nitride finishing provides a hard, slick surface that resists rust and reduces friction, extending barrel life and keeping maintenance simple.
Thread and dimension details matter when you're fitting barrels to actions. This prefit is cut with a 1.0625-inch by 16 TPI tenon, sized to mate with the FX7 receiver. The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24 — standard for modern suppressors and muzzle devices — with a recessed target crown to protect accuracy. At 5.65 pounds, the M24 profile strikes a balance between rigidity and weight, suitable for both bench and field shooting. Magnetic particle inspection during manufacture confirms the structural integrity of the steel.
Whether you're building your first bolt gun or upgrading an existing FX7, a quality prefit barrel saves time and ensures proper headspace from the start. This is the kind of part that rewards careful assembly with genuine accuracy gains.

No. This is a finished, ready-to-install prefit barrel. The bore is honed and lapped, and the exterior finish is applied. You simply install it into your FX7 receiver — no crowning, threading, or smithing needed.
