Faxon Firearms
The Faxon Firearms FX7 bolt action prefit .308 Winchester barrel is engineered specifically for shooters building or upgrading an FX7 rifle platform. This 18-inch Gunner contour barrel delivers a balanced profile that works equally well for hunting, tactical shooting, or precision range work—shorter than a traditional hunting barrel, yet long enough to develop respectable velocity in .308 Win. The prefit design means it threads directly onto your FX7 action without gunsmithing, saving time and eliminating guesswork.
Built from 416-R stainless steel and finished with salt bath nitriding, this barrel resists corrosion while maintaining the toughness you need for hard use in the field or on the bench. The 5R button-rifled bore is honed and lapped for smooth chambering and consistent velocities. Faxon's recessed target crown protects the rifling from damage and contributes to shot-to-shot consistency. Magnetic particle inspection ensures the steel is free of internal defects—quality control that matters when you're building precision ammunition handlers.
The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes typical .308 Win hunting and match rounds reliably, while the muzzle is threaded 5/8x24 (standard for .308 Win suppressors and brakes). If you're assembling an FX7 from a receiver or need a fresh barrel without a trip to the gunsmith, this prefit barrel removes the variables and gets you shooting.

Nitriding hardens the barrel's surface and dramatically improves corrosion resistance compared to bare stainless steel. It's a proven finish for field rifles and helps protect against rust from weathering and hard use.
