The Edgar Sherman Design Granite Grip Bovertail in Fine Black is a precision-focused pistol grip engineered for AR platform rifles. If you're building a rifle that demands control and consistency—whether for competition, long-range work, or general duty—this grip delivers a thoughtful alternative to mil-spec geometry without sacrificing versatility. The Fine texture sits in the sweet spot: moderately grippy in bare hands, reliable in light gloves, and unobtrusive enough that you won't fight it during transitions.

What sets the Granite Grip apart is its geometry. The 13.1-degree grip angle is shallower than standard mil-spec, a choice that resonates with shooters who prioritize trigger finger placement and wrist position for precision. The tapered profile fits naturally in the web of your hand, and the flat front face with chamfered edges—borrowed from competition and long-range design—encourages consistent hand placement and smoother manipulation. You're not getting a radical redesign; you're getting a refined take on what a working AR grip should be.

Edgar Sherman Design skipped conventional manufacturing to achieve the Granite Grip's unique shape, and that approach shows. The Nylon 12 construction is durable and lightweight, and the Fine texture surface is molded in, not glued on—it won't peel, crack, or degrade with heavy use. The bovertail profile provides wraparound coverage without the bulk, keeping the grip compact while maintaining contact across your palm. Whether you're running a precision rifle, a patrol carbine, or something in between, this grip fits the role without apology.
