EGW
The EGW .308 Win 7-Hole Cartridge Checker is a precision measuring tool built for reloaders and shooters who want to catch out-of-spec ammunition before it reaches the chamber. Whether you're running factory loads or your own handloads, this gauge lets you verify that rounds are within spec and free from the feeding problems, jams, and misfires that bad ammunition can cause. It's the kind of due-diligence step that separates confident shooting from surprises at the range.
Machined from solid 6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, the EGW checker is built to last and holds tight tolerances. It uses actual Clymer reamers—the same precision cutting tools used in chamber reaming—so the gauging surface matches your rifle's actual chamber geometry. That's the difference between a generic go/no-go indicator and a tool that reflects real-world chamber specs.
The 7-hole design lets you check multiple cartridges at once, streamlining your pre-shoot inspection routine. The checker measures both minimum case diameter and maximum overall length, giving you two critical dimensions that catch the most common out-of-spec issues. It comes finished in anodized matte black, durable and corrosion-resistant for long-term use in the reloading bench or field kit.

Yes. The EGW checker is designed to verify ammunition specifications regardless of whether rounds are factory-loaded or reloaded. It's an effective quality-control step before any shooting session.
Clymer reamers are the same precision cutting tools used to finish rifle chambers. By using actual Clymer reamers in the checker, the gauging surface matches your rifle's real chamber geometry, giving you the most accurate spec verification available in a cartridge checker.
The EGW checker measures two critical dimensions: minimum case diameter and maximum overall length. These are the two most common out-of-spec issues that cause feeding problems, jams, and misfires.
Yes. The 7-hole design allows you to inspect multiple cartridges simultaneously, making your pre-shoot inspection process faster and more efficient.
