The CZ 457 Royal .22LR bolt-action rifle brings serious rifle craftsmanship to the rimfire world without the pretense. Built for scoped hunting, target work, and serious .22 shooting, this rifle combines premium Turkish walnut, modern ergonomics, and CZ's proven reliability in a package that actually rewards good technique. Whether you're training the next generation of shooters, running small game, or stretching your accuracy skills at distance, the 457 Royal delivers the feel and function of a real rifle in a caliber that won't break the bank or your ears.
CZ completely redesigned their rimfire platform from the ground up, and it shows in the details. The receiver-mounted push-to-fire safety is what hunters, 4-H coaches, and firearms instructors have wanted for years—familiar, intuitive, and safe. The action is shorter and slimmer than its predecessor, dropping weight and reducing the footprint without sacrificing strength. The two-piece interlocking bottom metal is a genuine upgrade over stamped designs, adding rigidity and a refined aesthetic that matches the walnut furniture. A 60-degree bolt throw (down from 90 degrees) clears larger objective bells and lower ring heights, making modern scope mounting straightforward.
The 16.5-inch barrel is cold hammer forged and threaded at 1/2-20 (European standard), giving you options for suppressors or other muzzle devices down the line. The stock features a high, American-style comb built for scope use—no iron sights included, just an 11mm dovetail if you ever want to add them. The trigger is adjustable for weight and over-travel, so you can dial in exactly what works for your shooting style. Capacity is five rounds in a reliable polymer magazine that's quick to swap. At just under 6 pounds and 28 inches overall, it's nimble enough for real hunting without feeling like a toy.
If you've shot a quality centerfire, you'll recognize the 457 Royal as a legitimate rifle that happens to shoot .22. It's built to last, designed to be shot, and engineered for the kind of shooters who care about the details.

No. The Royal comes with no sights installed—it's scoped rifle ready. There is an 11mm dovetail if you want to add iron sights later, but the rifle is designed to accept a scope and has a high American-style comb that positions your head properly for scope use.
The safety is mounted on the receiver (not the bolt) and operates with a familiar push-to-fire motion—the same design hunters and firearms instructors have requested for years. It's intuitive for anyone trained on American-style rifle safety controls.
The barrel is threaded 1/2-20 (a European standard), so yes—you can attach suppressors or other muzzle devices designed for that thread pitch. Verify compatibility with your specific suppressor manufacturer.
The rifle uses CZ's polymer detachable magazines with 5-round capacity. The magazine system is the same reliable design used in the 455, so parts and spares are available.
