The CZ-USA CZ 457 Scout .22 LR bolt-action rifle is built from the ground up for young shooters and anyone learning rifle fundamentals. With its short 12-inch length of pull, simple adjustable iron sights, and American-style push-to-fire safety—the very feature shooting coaches and 4-H instructors have long requested—the Scout removes barriers to safe, confident marksmanship. The brown beechwood stock and compact 16.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel keep weight down to just 5 pounds, making it easy for smaller hands to mount, aim, and control.

What sets the 457 Scout apart is its modular DNA. The same 457 platform that serves competitive shooters and varmint hunters also powers this training rifle, meaning you're not buying something your shooter will outgrow—you're buying into a system. Swap the short stock for a full-size one as they grow taller, switch barrels and calibers down the road, or upgrade to any 455/457 magazine (5 to 25 rounds) when the included single-shot adapter is no longer needed. All it takes is a few simple tools and no gunsmith.

The receiver accepts any 11mm dovetail optic mount, and the threaded 1/2"-28 muzzle opens the door to suppressor-ready, hearing-safe practice. The adjustable trigger lets you dial weight and creep to suit the shooter, while the 60-degree bolt lift—tighter than older designs—clears larger scope objectives without forcing up to taller rings. Whether you're introducing a kid to shooting sports, building a youth competition rifle, or looking for a no-fuss .22 that actually respects good safety design, the Scout delivers the bones of a serious rimfire platform in a package that fits the shooter, not the other way around.
