The XS Sights R3D night sight set brings reliable 3-dot tritium sights to your carry or duty pistol, engineered for shooters who need fast, accurate target acquisition in any light. Built around a traditional notch-and-post sight picture, the R3D pairs self-illuminating tritium with a photoluminescent glow dot on the front sight—one that absorbs ambient light during the day and glows in darkness, keeping your focus exactly where it needs to be: downrange on the front sight.

The optical design is intentional. XS Sights uses a brighter tritium vial in the front and lets that tritium's glow charge the photoluminescent dot slightly, making the front sight noticeably brighter than the two tritium vials in the rear. This hierarchy of brightness naturally draws your eye to the front sight and holds it there, which is how accurate defensive shooting actually works. The rear sight features blacked-out tritium that illuminates for proper alignment without competing for your attention. Whether you're training at dawn, hunting in low light, or carrying for personal defense, the R3D gives you a sight picture that works 24/7.

The sight set is CNC machined steel with a matte black finish and fits a broad range of modern carry and duty pistols, including Sig P320, P365, P225, P226, and P229 models, as well as Springfield XD, XDm, and XDs, and the FN 509. It's a purpose-built upgrade for anyone who shoots in variable light or simply wants sights that perform without batteries or adjustment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pistols do these sights fit?

The XS Sights R3D night sight set is designed for Sig P320, P365, P225, P226, P229; Springfield XD, XDm, and XDs; and FN 509. Verify your specific model before ordering, as sight fitment varies by platform.

How do the sights work in low light?

The front sight's photoluminescent glow dot absorbs ambient light during daylight and releases that energy as a visible glow in darkness. The tritium vials in both front and rear sights are self-illuminating and require no activation or battery—they glow continuously, day and night, providing a backup aiming point whenever you need it.

Why is the front sight brighter than the rear?

By design, the front tritium vial is brighter, and its glow slightly charges the photoluminescent dot, making the front sight stand out from the rear pair. This creates a natural visual hierarchy that keeps your focus on the front sight, which is the fundamentally correct way to shoot accurately.

What's included in this set?

The R3D night sight set includes one front sight and one rear sight, ready to replace your pistol's factory sights. Installation typically requires a sight pusher tool and is best performed by an armorer or gunsmith if you're unfamiliar with the process.
