Xcaliber Knife Company
The Xcaliber Knife Company 40 Cal Medium is a tactical OTF (out-the-front) knife built for users who need a reliable, fast-deploying blade in the field or at the range. With a 3.25" tanto blade in 440C stainless steel and a part-serrated edge, this mid-size knife balances cutting performance with everyday practicality. The 4.64" steel handle delivers a solid grip and durable construction that won't quit when conditions get rough.
The tanto point is a proven design favored by hunters, tactical operators, and outdoor professionals. Its reinforced geometry excels at penetration and controlled cuts—whether you're processing game, managing gear, or handling camp tasks. The partial serration gives you sawing capability on tougher materials without sacrificing the versatility of a plain edge for detail work. 440C stainless steel holds an edge reasonably well and resists corrosion, a solid choice for a working knife that sees regular use.
OTF knives deploy instantly with one hand, and the Xcaliber's medium size keeps it maneuverable without feeling oversized in your pocket or on your belt. The steel handle provides the weight and feel serious users expect—no plastic lightweight compromise. This is a straightforward, no-nonsense tool that respects your time and doesn't ask questions when you need it to work.

A tanto is a reinforced point design with a secondary flat edge near the tip, originally developed for Japanese swordcraft. The geometry excels at penetration and controlled, forceful cuts. It's a favorite among hunters, tactical users, and field professionals because it handles both detail work and heavier tasks without point breakage.
440C stainless steel is a reliable mid-range blade steel that holds an edge through regular cutting and resists rust in outdoor conditions. It's not exotic, but it's proven and practical—the kind of steel that works when you need it, without demanding constant maintenance.
Part serrated means roughly half the blade edge is serrated (saw-like) and the other half is a plain, straight edge. This hybrid design lets you make smooth, precise cuts when needed while also being able to saw through tougher or fibrous materials—rope, dry wood, game hide—without losing the full versatility of a plain-edge blade.
Yes. The OTF mechanism is designed for single-handed deployment, giving you fast access when both hands aren't available. This is especially useful in tactical, hunting, or emergency situations where speed matters.
