Winchester
The Winchester XPR Sporter in 7mm Rem Mag is a hard-working rifle built for hunters who demand accuracy without compromise. This long-action centerfire rifle combines Winchester's field-proven engineering with a walnut stock and refined handling characteristics that work equally well from a shooting bench or in the backcountry. If you're chasing elk, mule deer, or other big game across variable terrain, the XPR Sporter delivers the reliability and precision needed to connect on distant shots.
The heart of the XPR's reputation is its trigger system: Winchester's M.O.A. design eliminates take-up, creep, and overtravel—the three variables that kill accuracy. Combined with a free-floated, button-rifled barrel and a recessed target crown that guards the muzzle, this rifle groups consistently enough to ethically take game at extended range. The receiver is machined from solid steel and through-hardened, while a steel recoil lug inletted into the stock prevents receiver twisting under recoil, locking down the kind of mechanical stability serious long-range shooters need.
Handling and durability get equal attention. Nickel Teflon coating on the bolt body keeps the action smooth and corrosion-resistant—a real benefit if you hunt wet or coastal country. The polymer detachable box magazine is single-stack and tough; no rattling or reliability headaches. The walnut stock carries crisp checkering on the grip and fore-end, with a flattened fore-end profile that settles solidly into a shooting rest or bench. The Inflex recoil pad is angled to direct energy away from your cheek, easing the sting of 7mm Mag recoil.
Perma-Cote matte black metal surfaces cut glare and stand up to hard use. The two-position thumb safety and cocking indicator let you verify safety status at a glance or by touch, and Winchester's bolt unlock button lets you clear the chamber without switching off the safety—a smart design detail for safe field handling.
