Winchester
The Winchester 70 Super Grade in .300 Win Mag is a full-featured rifle that bridges classic aesthetics with modern accuracy features—built for hunters and long-range shooters who refuse to compromise on either. This bolt-action rifle chambers the hard-hitting .300 Winchester Magnum, a proven round for elk, moose, and distant game. The 26-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is free-floated and capped with a recessed target crown to protect rifling and support consistent accuracy. With a three-position safety, controlled round-feed claw extractor, and MOA trigger system offering zero take-up, zero creep, and zero overtravel, the Super Grade delivers the mechanical refinement serious hunters expect from Winchester's flagship action.
Where the Super Grade earns its name is the stock. Grade IV/V full-fancy walnut with a shadowline cheekpiece places your cheek and eye naturally behind a scope without awkward head positioning—a detail that matters after hours glassing or when a shot opportunity matters most. The highly polished, deeply blued steel and satin black walnut finish strike that rare balance between working rifle and heirloom gun. One-piece bottom metal with a steel floorplate and a decorative steel crossbolt add rigidity to the bedding (front and rear) for better group consistency. A forged steel receiver with integral recoil lug is bedded solid, and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad tames the magnum's kick.
At 8 lbs 8 oz and 46.75 inches overall, the Super Grade is a substantial rifle suited to open terrain and long glassing sessions. The 3-round magazine and inletted sling-swivel studs support traditional field setup. Whether you're building a rifle that will last generations or stepping up to magnum-caliber hunting, the Winchester 70 Super Grade combines pre-'64 bolt-feed control with modern accuracy engineering.

A shadowline cheekpiece is a subtle, ergonomic feature molded into the stock that naturally positions your cheek and eye directly behind a mounted scope without forcing your head into an awkward position. On a rifle like the Super Grade, this means faster, more comfortable target acquisition and better consistency shot-to-shot, especially when hunting or shooting from field positions where you're mounting quickly.
Yes. The .300 Winchester Magnum is a proven long-range caliber, and the Super Grade's combination of a free-floated cold hammer-forged barrel, recessed target crown, bedded receiver with integral recoil lug, and MOA trigger all support consistent accuracy at distance. The rifle is designed with the accuracy features needed for deliberate, longer-distance hunting.
Controlled round feed (the Pre-'64 style claw extractor used here) means the claw extractor controls the cartridge throughout its entire journey from magazine to chamber to ejection. This provides more reliable feeding and extraction than push-feed designs, especially in demanding conditions or when hunting.
The rifle ships with sling-swivel studs already inletted into the stock, so you can attach your preferred sling. No scope or other accessories are included—those are your choice.
