The Weaver #98 Top Mount 1 Piece Base is a straightforward, solid choice for mounting optics on rifles that use Weaver-pattern scope rings. Built from aluminum and finished in gloss black, this single-piece top-mounted base offers the simplicity and reliability that riflemen have depended on for decades. If you're setting up a hunting rifle, precision target gun, or any firearm that needs a clean, no-fuss scope platform, a quality mounting base like this one forms the foundation of your entire optical system.

One-piece bases have a key advantage: they maintain inherent rigidity across the mounting surface, which means better consistency for your point of impact. There's no secondary clamping or adjustment between two separate pieces—just solid aluminum doing its job. Installation is straightforward; Weaver bases mount on top of your receiver and attach using custom screws engineered to secure firmly to the base itself, typically without requiring gunsmithing or modifications to your rifle.

The gloss black finish blends into most rifle aesthetics and resists corrosion under normal hunting and range conditions. Whether you're building a new rifle or refreshing an older one, the #98 is a no-nonsense base that lets your scope rings and optics do the talking. Pair it with quality Weaver rings and you've got the backbone of an accurate, reliable setup.
