Underwood Ammo
Underwood Ammo 9mm Luger 90-grain Xtreme Defender ammunition is engineered for defensive shooters who demand reliable expansion and deep penetration without compromise. Built on a proven platform, the Xtreme Defender combines a solid copper construction with a precisely optimized nose flute design to deliver consistent performance in real-world scenarios—including situations where shots must pass through barriers like drywall, vehicle glass, or heavy clothing.
The Xtreme Defender's defining characteristic is its permanent wound cavity (PWC). The design achieves exceptional expansion diameter and volume while maintaining the penetration depth needed for reliable stopping performance. Unlike many hollow-point alternatives, this round expands reliably even after passing through intermediate barriers, ensuring the defensive benefit isn't lost when a shot doesn't come from ideal distance or angle. The solid copper body resists deformation from contact with common obstacles, preserving the round's terminal ballistics where it counts.
Each box ships with 20 rounds of factory-loaded, ready-to-shoot ammunition. This is ammunition for serious defensive applications where barrier-blind performance and consistent expansion matter. If you're running this load through a duty pistol, carry gun, or home-defense 9mm, the Xtreme Defender merits serious consideration for its blend of penetration and wound cavity performance.
| Caliber | 9mm Luger |

Yes. The Xtreme Defender is designed to maintain reliable expansion even after penetrating barriers like drywall, vehicle glass, or heavy clothing. The solid copper body and nose flute geometry help preserve the round's terminal performance in barrier-dependent scenarios.
Penetration depth reaches up to 18 inches, providing the depth needed for reliable defensive performance while the round's design also generates a large permanent wound cavity.
Yes. The Xtreme Defender is engineered specifically for defensive applications and is sold in quantities and packaging typical of self-defense ammunition. It is not target or practice ammunition.
Each box contains 20 rounds of loaded ammunition, ready to shoot.
