The Ultradyne 6.5 Pegasus Tanker Compensator with 5/8x24 thread is a precision muzzle brake built for shooters who refuse to let recoil dictate their shot placement. Whether you're competing in long-range precision matches, hunting magnum rifles, or working through a high-round session at the range, this compensator uses expanding side ports angled at 90 degrees to redirect muzzle gases and manage felt recoil so you stay behind your optic and on target. Machined entirely in the USA from corrosion-resistant 416 stainless steel, it's engineered for durability and consistent performance in any weather.

The Pegasus design vent geometry produces a smooth, controlled gas release rather than a sharp jolt—the difference between riding out recoil and being pushed back by it. That means faster sight-picture recovery, tighter follow-up shots, and more consistent performance when every tenth of a second and every inch of accuracy matter. The brake is compatible with Ultradyne's Dynamount system, giving you flexibility as your rifle setup evolves.

Fits any 5/8x24 TPI threaded muzzle (the industry standard for many magnum and precision rifle applications). Installation includes a 0.875-inch timing nut, and the 7.5-ounce weight keeps it light relative to its recoil management. Note: Ultradyne recommends this compensator for barrels 12 inches or longer to ensure proper function and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rifles does the Ultradyne Pegasus 5/8x24 compensator fit?

The Pegasus fits any rifle with a 5/8x24 TPI threaded muzzle. That includes most modern magnum hunting rifles, precision rifle platform barrels, and many AR-10 builds. Verify your barrel's thread pattern before ordering.

Can I use this on a short-barreled rifle?

Ultradyne does not recommend this compensator on barrels shorter than 12 inches. Shorter barrels may not provide adequate clearance or function safely with the brake's side-venting design.

Is this brake loud?

Like all muzzle brakes, the Pegasus redirects gas to manage recoil—and that redirection produces noise. Side-porting brakes typically direct sound sideways and rearward. If sound signature is a concern, discuss hearing protection or suppressor options with our team.

What's included in the box?

The Pegasus comes with the brake itself and a 0.875-inch timing nut for securing it to your 5/8x24 threaded muzzle. Standard installation tools are not included.
