The Ultradyne Pegasus 5/8x24 muzzle brake is built for shooters who need genuine recoil reduction without the blast and concussion that comes with basic brakes. Threaded in the standard 5/8-24 pattern, this device uses a smart four-port design to manage the recoil impulse in stages rather than in one brutal shove. That staged approach keeps you flatter behind the rifle and lets you see your shot break and corrections more clearly—critical whether you're dialing in distance at the range, hunting big game, or running precision rifle drills.

The Pegasus starts with CNC-machined stainless steel and finishes it in a salt bath nitride that can take real punishment without rusting or peeling. It's compact enough not to look out of place on a hunting rifle—2.43 inches long and 1.36 inches in diameter—yet weighs only 5.7 ounces, so you're not adding unnecessary mass to the muzzle. It ships with a shrouded timing nut, so getting it clocked correctly and locked down is straightforward. The tanker-style profile is proven geometry that balances form with function.

This is purpose-built for .308/7.62x51 ammunition, so verify your caliber before ordering. If you're running a bolt rifle, semi-auto, or anything in between, as long as your barrel threads 5/8-24, the Pegasus will bolt on. It's the kind of muzzle device that earns its place on a rifle you actually shoot often, not a safe queen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Ultradyne Pegasus fit my .308 rifle?

Yes, if your barrel is threaded 5/8-24 UNEF-2B. This is the standard thread pitch for modern .308 and 7.62x51 rifles. If you're unsure about your barrel's thread spec, check the gun's manual or have a gunsmith confirm before purchasing.

Does this muzzle brake reduce recoil?

The Pegasus is designed to reduce recoil through its four progressive side ports, which vent combusting gases in stages to manage the recoil impulse. This staged venting approach is intended to allow faster, clearer follow-up shots compared to unsupported recoil.

What's included with the Pegasus?

The brake comes with a shrouded timing nut, which allows you to clock the device to your preferred orientation and secure it to the barrel. You'll need appropriate thread-locking compound and a muzzle brake wrench for installation.

Can I use this on a hunting rifle or only target rifles?

The Pegasus is suitable for both hunting and target applications. Its compact 2.43-inch length and tanker-style design work well on hunting rifles, and its recoil reduction benefits follow-up shots in the field or at the range.
