The Thompson 1911 Government/Commander .45 ACP 7-round stainless steel magazine is a reliable, no-frills reload for your classic 1911 platform. Built from stainless steel with a non-removable baseplate, this magazine is engineered to handle the rigors of range sessions, duty carry, and field use. Whether you're running a Government-length 5" frame or a more compact Commander 4.25" slide, this 7-round capacity sits between minimum carry redundancy and maximum concealability—a sweet spot for shooters who value both firepower and practical carry weight.
Auto Ordnance magazines are known for straightforward, honest construction: they feed what you load them with and stay put when you need them to. The stainless steel body resists corrosion in adverse conditions, and the fixed baseplate means no springs or bits to lose or rattle. If you're building a backup magazine supply, replacing a worn unit, or simply want spares staged at home, the range, or in your truck, this is a no-nonsense option.
.45 ACP shooters understand the round: heavier bullet, moderate velocity, proven stopping authority, and solid accuracy at typical handgun distances. This magazine keeps seven of them ready to go, making it suitable for training, practical shooting, home defense, or recreational marksmanship. Pair it with a quality 1911 platform and you've got a durable, maintainable system that's been proven over more than a century.

Yes. This 7-round magazine is designed for both Government-length and Commander-length 1911 platforms chambered in .45 ACP. Fit in the magwell is the same across both frame sizes.
A fixed baseplate reduces moving parts and potential failure points. It keeps the magazine simple and reliable, with nothing to lose or misplace during field use or cleaning.
This magazine works for both. The 7-round capacity is a practical choice for carry shooters who balance magazine capacity with grip length and concealability in a compact 1911 or full-size Government model.
You receive one Auto Ordnance 1911 magazine, .45 ACP, 7-round, stainless steel.
