A Colt 1911 Government/Commander .45 ACP steel magazine is a foundational spare for any serious .45 shooter. Whether you're running a full-size Government or the more compact Commander platform, reliable magazines are the unglamorous backbone of consistent feeding and function. This is genuine Colt OEM hardware—the standard your pistol was designed around.

Built from steel, these magazines handle the demands of regular range work, competition, and defensive carry. The construction is straightforward and proven: Colt has been making 1911 magazines since forever, and the formula doesn't need reinvention. A quality spare magazine or two ensures you're never caught short on the range or at a match, and it's cheap insurance against the wear that comes with thousands of rounds downrange.

If you own a Government or Commander in .45 ACP, having Colt factory magazines on hand is the smart move. They feed what your gun is built to feed, fit how your gun expects them to fit, and last through the kind of use that separates reliable gear from the rest.
