Thompson Center
The Thompson Center Essential Cleaning Kit for 50-caliber muzzleloaders gives you a complete, compact system for maintaining your percussion or flintlock rifle. Whether you're a weekend hunter breaking down after a successful season or a serious muzzleloader enthusiast who cleans between range sessions, this kit bundles the core solvents and lubricants you need to keep your bore clean, your action smooth, and your rifle reliable. Thompson Center designed this kit around their deep knowledge of black powder and modern muzzleloader mechanics—these aren't generic gun solvents, but formulations built for the specific demands of muzzleloader upkeep.
The kit includes a bore cleaner, specialized lubricants, and anti-seize compound—everything sized and proportioned for field-portable convenience. You get the bore cleaner to dissolve fouling and residue, a dedicated bore butter for protection and slick bore walls, and premium lubricants for your lock work, breech plug threads, and any metal-to-metal contact prone to corrosion or galling. The anti-seize compound is especially valuable if you shoot regularly; it prevents your breech plug from welding itself to the tang during the heating and cooling cycles that come with firing and cleaning cycles. This kit is sized to fit a pack or cleaning kit bag without taking up gun cabinet real estate, making it ideal whether you're preparing for a hunt, breaking down at the range, or maintaining your muzzleloader through storage.
Thompson Center's Essential Cleaning Kit is purpose-built for 50-caliber shooters who want reliable, proven formulations without the clutter of a 30-piece universal kit. It's the choice of hunters and range shooters who understand that proper muzzleloader maintenance is an investment in reliability and accuracy when it matters most.

Yes. The solvents and lubricants in the Thompson Center Essential Cleaning Kit are formulated for all ignition systems—percussion, flintlock, and inline designs—as long as they are 50-caliber rifles.
The anti-seize lubricant is designed to prevent your breech plug from seizing or binding during repeated heating and cooling from firing and cleaning. It's especially useful if you shoot regularly or plan to use your rifle in humid or wet conditions. Applied to breech plug threads during reassembly, it prevents corrosion and makes future disassembly much easier.
The kit is formulated for and sized around 50-caliber maintenance. While the solvents and lubricants will work on other muzzleloader calibers, bottle sizes are optimized for 50-cal cleaning frequency and bore volumes.
The kit contains three products: a 4 oz bottle of Number 13 Bore Cleaner, a .75 oz container of Natural Lube 1000 Plus Bore Butter, and a .23 oz bottle of Super Lube Anti-Seize Lubricant.
