TH Marine
The TH Marine Rod Tamer 12" Gunwale Mount is a durable rod holder engineered to keep your fishing rods secure and organized while you're underway or at rest. Built from black polyurethane that resists fading, sun damage, and chemical exposure, this gunwale-mounted strap system solves a real problem anglers face: rods sliding around, getting tangled, or coming loose in rough water. If you've fought with old hook-and-loop straps that snag on treble hooks, lose tension when wet, or deteriorate under the sun, the Rod Tamer's molded design is a straightforward upgrade.
The system works by stretching over your rods and hooking into a mounted loop on the gunwale, keeping them held firmly in place without the hassles of traditional straps. The polyurethane material maintains its elasticity season after season, so you're not replacing worn-out straps every couple of years. Whether you're running a center console, bay boat, or any vessel with accessible gunwales, this 12-inch mount accommodates standard rod lengths and diameters.
Rod organization matters more than it seems—loose rods can damage expensive tackle, spook fish, and create safety hazards in choppy conditions. The Rod Tamer keeps your gear in order so you can focus on fishing instead of babysitting your rod rack.

Yes. The molded polyurethane design doesn't have the hook-and-loop surface that catches fishing hooks, so treble hooks and line won't snag or get stuck on the strap itself.
The gunwale mount is secured to your boat's rail or gunwale structure. The strap stretches over your rods and hooks into the mounted loop. Exact installation steps should be confirmed with the product documentation or manufacturer instructions for your specific vessel.
No. The polyurethane material is engineered to maintain its holding power even when wet, unlike older hook-and-loop strap designs that lose tension in moisture.
The molded polyurethane resists sun damage, UV exposure, and chemical degradation, and maintains its stretch over time. The material is designed for long-term durability, though the lifespan will depend on your usage and storage conditions.
