The Taylors & Company 1875 No. 3 2nd Model Schofield .38 Special revolver brings historic American gunfighting iron into your hands with authentic styling and proven mechanics. This blued-finish single-action revolver captures the character of the iconic Schofield design—a gun with real cavalry and lawman heritage—while delivering the reliability shooters expect from a well-made reproduction. Whether you're into Cowboy Action Shooting, historical collecting, or just appreciate the ergonomic simplicity of a classic top-break revolver, the Schofield's reputation for speed and handling holds true today.
Built around the 1875 No. 3 2nd Model platform, this .38 Special wheelgun balances historical accuracy with practical shooting. The 5-inch barrel strikes a natural point between hunting and general use, and the 6-round cylinder gives you decent firepower without excess weight. At 2.40 pounds, it carries comfortably and handles quick to the target. The walnut grips provide traditional aesthetics and a secure, natural hold—no modern plastic needed unless you want it.
The Schofield's top-break action was revolutionary for its time: fast reloads, simple maintenance, and inherent robustness. The blade front sight is straightforward and no-nonsense. This gun doesn't try to be something it isn't—it's a working revolver in classic dress, purpose-built for shooters who understand why Old West gunslingers swore by the design. If you value historical character without sacrificing functionality, the Taylors & Company Schofield delivers.
