Taylors & Company
The Taylors & Company 1858 Remington Conversion .45 LC revolver brings a piece of Old West heritage to the modern shooter who appreciates single-action revolvers with historical character. This 5.5-inch barrel model splits the difference between the snappiness of a shorter gun and the sight radius and velocity you want for accurate shooting. Chambered in .45 LC—a round steeped in frontier tradition and still plenty capable on the range or in the field—it delivers the raw, mechanical satisfaction that black-powder traditionalists and cowboy action competitors seek.
The Remington 1858 platform has a well-earned reputation for robust construction and user-friendly operation. This conversion version fires modern .45 LC ammunition, sidestepping the complexity of percussion cap loading while keeping the classic lines and balance intact. The 6-shot cylinder gives you a practical capacity, and the two-piece walnut grips sit naturally in the hand—they're built for actual shooting, not just display. The blue finish with brass triggerguard is a nod to period authenticity without the maintenance demands of full Colts-style hardened steel.
Whether you're getting your feet wet in single-action revolvers, working a cowboy action match, or just want a historically resonant .45 LC that doesn't break the bank, this Taylors & Company conversion is a no-nonsense choice. It's the kind of gun that rewards good fundamentals: smooth trigger control, deliberate aim, and respect for what you're shooting.
