Strike King
The Strike King KVD Shallow Square Bill is a 3/8 oz hard crankbait built for shallow water fishing and fast-paced power presentations. Engineered to Kevin VanDam's specifications, this shallow squarebill crankbait delivers an erratic hunting action that works hard for you in the strike zone. The Tennessee Shad finish is a proven color for a range of water conditions and forage profiles.
What sets the KVD apart is its design philosophy: the squarebill lip isn't just for deflection off wood, rocks, and other shallow cover—it's paired with a wandering, unpredictable retrieve that triggers reaction strikes rather than relying on a predictable wobble. That means whether you're grinding it through stumps or working it along a shallow ledge, the bait's natural tendency to hunt side-to-side keeps bass honest. The crankbait deflects off cover without hanging, making it ideal for aggressive shallow-water applications where other baits would get snagged.
One detail serious shallow-water anglers appreciate: the KVD Shallow features no internal rattles. That silent approach lets the action do the talking, especially in clear water or around spooky fish. You're relying on vibration, flash, and that unpredictable hunting motion—not noise—to generate bites. Pair it with a rod and retrieve speed suited to your cover and target depth, and you've got a weapon for everything from early spring to late fall shallow-water scenarios.

| Type | Shallow Squarebill Crankbait |
| Color | Tennessee Shad |
| Rattle | None (silent) |
| Brand | Strike King |
This crankbait is built for shallow water presentations, making it ideal for power fishing wood, rocks, shallow flats, and areas where you want a compact bait that deflects off cover without snagging.
The KVD Shallow operates rattle-free, which means it relies entirely on its hunting action and vibration profile rather than noise. This silent approach is especially effective in clear water or when targeting pressured fish that respond better to subtle presentations.
The squarebill lip allows the crankbait to deflect off shallow cover like wood and rocks while maintaining a running depth in the strike zone. Combined with the erratic hunting motion, it creates a reaction-triggering presentation that keeps the bait moving unpredictably through productive shallow water.
