Schrade
The Schrade Reckon 3.25" folding drop point knife is built for hunters, field dressers, and anyone who needs a reliable cutting tool that deploys fast and handles tough jobs. With a D2 steel blade and Nitro Assisted opening technology, this American-assembled folder gives you quick access when seconds count—whether you're processing game, camp prep, or general-purpose cutting around the homestead. The black aluminum handle and liner locking system keep the blade secure and the knife feeling refined in hand.
D2 is a proven workhorse steel: edge-retention that holds up through heavy use, and tough enough to handle impact without chipping. The drop point profile is the thinking person's blade shape—excellent penetration for precise cuts, a strong tip, and a belly that handles slicing without the aggression of a clip point. That's why drop points have stayed standard for hunting and utility knives for decades.
Nitro Assisted opening means you deploy the blade with authority, but you control the speed. The black aluminum handle won't show wear like polished steel, and the liner locking system is the field-proven standard: deploy, lock, use, close. No fuss. Built in the USA, the Reckon is the kind of knife that earns its place in your pack or belt and doesn't require babying.
| Blade Length | 3.25" |
| Blade Material | D2 Steel |
| Blade Shape | Drop Point |
| Handle Material | Black Aluminum |
| Locking Mechanism | Liner Lock |
| Opening Style | Nitro Assisted |
A drop point blade tapers from the spine down to the tip without a pronounced hook like a clip point. The profile gives you better control and precision for slicing and piercing tasks—common reasons hunters and outdoor professionals favor the shape. The robust tip also resists breaking under field stress.
D2 holds an edge well through extended cutting and is tough enough to take impact without chipping easily. It's not stainless, so you'll want to wipe it dry and store it clean, but that trade-off gives you a blade that performs hard and lasts. Generations of hunters have relied on D2 for that reason.
Nitro Assisted technology uses a spring-assist mechanism that helps deploy the blade once you flick or thumb it open. You control the stroke; the system just makes the deployment fast and smooth. It's not automatic—you're always in command.
Yes. The liner locking system is the industry standard for folding knives precisely because it's simple, reliable, and proven in hard use. Deploy the blade, ensure the lock engages, and the blade stays put. Close with a thumb press on the lock spine.
