Savage Arms
The Savage A17 .17HMR semiauto rifle combines accurate small-game hunting and precision shooting in a reliable, lightweight platform. Built around a delayed blowback action with a hard-chromed bolt and dual controlled round feed, this model 47001 delivers consistent performance with minimal recoil—ideal for hunters working varmints, small game, and long-range rimfire practice. The 22-inch button-rifled carbon steel barrel shoots clean and holds tight groups, while the case-hardened receiver and synthetic stock are built to handle field use without flinching at weather or rough handling.
What sets the A17 apart is Savage's AccuTrigger, a user-adjustable trigger that breaks cleanly and consistently—a rarity in the semiauto rimfire class. That precision translates to tighter shot groups and faster follow-up accuracy, whether you're zeroing at 50 yards or stretching distance on prairie dogs. The 10-round detachable rotary magazine keeps feeding reliable and lets you stay in the field longer between reloads. At 5.41 pounds, the rifle handles like a carbine, making it a natural choice for hunters who cover ground.
The rifle ships drilled and tapped for scope mounts, ready to mount optics straight out of the box. Matte black synthetic furniture sheds water and won't snag brush, and the right-hand configuration suits the vast majority of shooters. Whether you're building your first precision rimfire or adding a dedicated .17 to your battery, the Savage A17 punches above its weight class in accuracy and reliability.
