Remington
The Remington 700 in .308 Winchester is a bolt-action rifle that has defined centerfire hunting for generations. This particular configuration—Model R25805—pairs the legendary 700 action with a 22-inch barrel in black, housed in American walnut. It's the kind of gun that works equally well on opening day or decade ten: reliable, accurate, and built to handle whatever you hunt and wherever you hunt it.
The .308 Winchester is the thinking hunter's caliber. It's effective across most game in North America, ammunition is available everywhere, and ballistics are well-understood by hunters who've spent time at the range. The 22-inch barrel strikes a practical balance—short enough to handle in timber or from a stand, long enough to realize the cartridge's velocity and terminal performance without unnecessary muzzle blast.
This Model 700 BDL carries the features that made the platform famous: a smooth, strong action and a crisp trigger that reward good shooting. The high-gloss walnut stock features a Monte Carlo comb with raised cheekpiece, cut checkering for a secure grip even when gloved, and a distinctive black fore-end cap that breaks up the wood. All metal surfaces wear Remington's deep bluing. Practical touches include hooded ramp front and adjustable rear sights for quick shooting out of the box, a hinged magazine floorplate for easy loading and cleaning, and sling swivel studs for your choice of carry system.
Whether you're a first-time deer rifle buyer, a shooter looking for a proven platform to customize, or someone who simply appreciates a tool that doesn't ask questions and doesn't make excuses, the Remington 700 .308 speaks for itself through four decades of hunters' trust.
