The Mesa Tactical Rem 870 Gen II Telescoping Hydraulic Recoil Stock transforms your Remington 870 12-gauge into a compact, controllable shotgun built for tactical shooting, home defense, and professional use. This complete stock kit replaces the shotgun's factory furniture with AR-15–style controls and ergonomics, giving you adjustable length-of-pull to fit your frame, body armor, or gear—without sacrificing handling or balance.
The heart of this system is Mesa Tactical's adapter, which accepts standard AR-15 buffer tubes and collapsible stocks. You get a telescoping M4 Carbine–style buttstock with integrated hydraulic recoil management, an ERGO rubber overmolded pistol grip for positive control, and the tools you need for installation. The result is a shotgun that cycles faster, recoils softer, and stacks tighter in vehicles or tight spaces than a factory 870. LEO-spec height keeps your cheekweld natural without requiring riser blocks or optic mounts.
Mesa Tactical's design maintains the reliability that made the 870 legendary while adding modern ergonomics hunters, sport shooters, and home defenders have come to expect. Swap between length-of-pull settings in seconds, and run the gun from unconventional positions without wrestling a pistol grip. The hydraulic recoil stock absorbs felt impulse, letting you stay on target and shoot longer without fatigue.
| Firearm Compatibility | Remington 870 12-gauge |
| Stock Type | Telescoping, AR-15 buffer tube mount |
| Recoil Management | Hydraulic dampening |
| Grip Type | ERGO rubber overmolded pistol grip |
| Included Accessories | Stock wrench, push-button sling swivel |
| Gauge | 12-gauge only |
Yes—this kit is engineered specifically for the Remington 870 12-gauge. It will not fit other shotgun platforms like the Mossberg 500/590.
Hydraulic dampening reduces felt recoil impulse, allowing you to recover faster between shots, stay on target longer, and shoot more comfortably during extended range sessions or hunting days.
The kit includes an M4 Carbine–style stock and ERGO grip, and the AR-15 buffer tube interface is standard, so you can experiment with other aftermarket components designed for AR-15 platforms. Confirm compatibility with any third-party parts before installation.
The complete stock kit includes the telescoping buttstock with hydraulic recoil system, ERGO rubber overmolded pistol grip, a stamped steel stock wrench for installation, and a push-button sling swivel. A slip-on rubber butt pad is available separately if desired.
