Redding Reloading Equipment
The Redding Type S Neck Bushing Die for .300 PRC gives reloaders precise, repeatable control over case neck sizing and bullet tension—critical for the consistency that magnum cartridges demand. Unlike full-length sizing dies, the Type S system uses interchangeable sizing bushings that let you dial in neck diameter in .001-inch increments, so you can match your brass and bullet combo exactly. This is especially valuable if you're working with commercial .300 PRC brass or have sorted and uniformed your own neck walls.
The heart of the system is the self-centering bushing design, which enhances concentricity by allowing the bushing to float on the case neck rather than being forced into a fixed position. An adjustable decapping rod lets you control how much of the neck gets sized—useful if you prefer to size only the upper portion and preserve your case work. The die ships with a standard decapping button and a decapping pin retainer, so you're ready to start; bushings are sold separately in .001-inch increments, letting you build a sizing solution tailored to your exact brass and load.
For handloaders serious about .300 PRC precision, whether you're assembling match ammo or hunting loads, the Type S system rewards careful brass prep and gives you the fine control that full-length sizing can't match. If you turn necks or sort brass for uniformity, you can even size without the decapping button—another layer of customization.
| Product Type | Type S Neck Bushing Die |
| Caliber | .300 PRC |
| Bushing Increment | .001 inch |
| Included Components | Die, standard decapping button, decapping pin retainer |
| Bushings | Sold separately |
No—the die ships without bushings. You'll need to order them separately in the size that matches your brass and bullet combination. Redding supplies them in .001-inch increments so you can find your exact fit.
Yes. The Type S system is especially useful for commercial brass, and it ships with a standard decapping button so you can process factory ammo as-is right out of the box.
With the button installed, the die sizes the neck and decaps in one stroke. If you remove the button—and the die includes a pin retainer to support this—you can resize neck only, which is ideal if you've sorted or turned your cases and want to preserve that work.
The bushing floats on the case neck rather than being locked into a rigid die bore, allowing it to center itself on each individual case. This reduces runout and improves bullet runout consistency compared to full-length sizing dies.
